The perfect pair of shoes requires at least 120 steps and 14 hours of work – this is the intricate journey that each pair of Sergio Rossi shoes goes through, making it synonymous with Italian quality and traditional feminine style. The legacy of Sergio Rossi began with the hard work of his father, a shoemaker and artisan from the small town of San Mauro Pascoli.
Founded in 1951, the small family business turned into an internationally recognized brand during the 1960's, becoming an industrial factory starting from being a local cobbler. Sergio Rossi began to craft sandals that he would later go on to sell at the beautiful beaches of Rimini and in Bologna. A few years later, he launched his first own-label collection whose name and logo today are known and loved by the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Cate Blanchett.
From the brand’s collaboration and committed partnership with Gianni Versace during the 1970s, Rossi became a Milanese sensation. His exceptional eye for detail and astute predictions for future trends were admired by numerous fashion houses around Italy, leading him to consult with numerous brands. With his time in high demand, Sergio Rossi had no choice but to become selective in his collaborations. In time, the brand became closely linked to some of the industry’s leading names, including Azzedine Alaïa and Dolce & Gabbana.
