Wainwright’s passion to create stylish yet well-constructed clothing began with his own personal frustrations with New York fashion. Although the young creative admired American denim, he was not as impressed with its lack of versatility. The cut, colour and quality were just not what he was looking for, so he decided to create his own. Thus began the evolution of Rag & Bone. The brand’s ethos was ‘to create clothing that highlights the wearer for being themselves and not for trying to be something they are not’, and Rag & Bone’s aesthetic demonstrates the daily reality of life through its style.
